How much does demolition cost?
Cost depends on the size and type of structure, what it’s built from, site access, utility disconnects, and disposal volume. A detached garage and a two-story house are very different jobs. We provide free on-site estimates so you get a real number, not a range.
Do I need a permit to demolish a structure?
In most cases, yes. Demolition permits are issued at the city or county level, and requirements differ across the St. Louis metro. We’ll tell you what your jurisdiction requires and help you work through the process before we schedule the job.
What about asbestos and hazardous materials?
Structures built before roughly the 1980s may contain asbestos, and federal and state rules generally require an inspection before demolition.
Do you haul away the debris?
Yes. Complete debris removal and disposal is included in our demolition work. We leave the site cleared and graded, not stacked with material for you to deal with.
How long does a demolition take?
Most residential garages and outbuildings come down in a day. A full house teardown with foundation removal typically runs several days depending on size, access, and disposal. Utility disconnects and permitting can add lead time before work begins.
What's the difference between full pool removal and a fill-in?
Full removal takes out the entire pool shell and decking and backfills the hole with engineered fill: the most complete option, and the one that typically causes the fewest issues for future construction or resale. A partial fill-in breaks up and buries the shell, which costs less but is generally something you’ll need to disclose when selling. We’ll explain both during your estimate.
Do you handle utility disconnects?
Water, gas, sewer, and electric all have to be properly shut off and disconnected before demolition begins. We coordinate with you and the utility providers so nothing gets missed.
